metro

4 lines covering central Lisbon and north suburbs. Runs 6:30am-1am. Clean, efficient, and affordable.

Crew tip: Metro filming requires Metropolitano de Lisboa authorization (2+ weeks). Blue Line connects airport to Baixa.

tram

Historic trams (28, 12) and modern lines. Tram 15E to Belém. Essential Lisbon imagery.

Crew tip: Carris permits for filming on/around trams. Vintage trams are small - limited capacity.

taxi

Cream-colored taxis available throughout city. Fixed rates from airport. Reliable and affordable.

Crew tip: Taxi stands at main squares. Apps like Bolt and Free Now widely used.

rideshare

Uber, Bolt, and Free Now operate extensively. Often cheaper than taxis.

ferry

Regular ferries to Cacilhas (south bank) for Cristo Rei access and different city perspectives.

Crew tip: Ferry offers unique filming angles of Lisbon waterfront. Quick crossing (10 min).

Production Parking difficult · Permits required

Central Lisbon has limited parking. Steep hills make navigation challenging. Underground parking in Baixa and Parque das Nações.

Câmara Municipal can arrange production vehicle access and temporary parking in restricted areas. Base camps typically in Parque das Nações or Alcântara.

Getting Between Locations

Lisbon is compact but hilly - metro preferred for crew. Alfama to Belém: 20 min by tram 15E. Consider hills when planning equipment transport. Rush hour (8-9am, 6-8pm) affects vehicle times significantly.
